The aims of the activity are to help students gain a deeper understanding of the needs of children and communities in developing countries, and reflect on their own lifestyles in light of what they learn. Through the activity, students understand the underlying causes and effects of hunger by playing a role as people in developing countries do. In this activity, students are asked to take up the roles of those very young factory workers who have to produce “clothes” under a very stressful atmosphere. They would be “scolded” for talking, working slowly and not being able to finish work in time. It is definitely a special experience for students as they could understand the situation better by playing a part in it.
